501 Must Read Books Challenge – 2011 Wrap Up

4 Jan

This is my first year taking part in this challenge. What i like about this challenge is that it has several different genres to read, some that i wouldnt always read, like travel writing.

Books Read in 2011

1)The Group – Mary McCarthy This wasnt a book i enjoyed at all, i just couldnt get into it.
2)The Fellowship of the Ring – J.R.R. Tolkien I really liked this book, the best of the trilogy in my opinion
3)Day of the Triffids – John Wyndham I really enjoyed this book, one to read again
4)Reading Lolita in Tehran – Azar Nafisi I didnt think i would enjoy this book, but it was one of my favourite reads of the year.
5)The Murder of Roger Ackroyd – Agatha Christie My first book by this author, and i loved it. I want to read more now.

Well, i only managed 5, which does need improving next year. So my target for next year is 7.

Random Stats

Percentage Complete – 2.79

Books on TBR at the end of 2011 – 12

Books on Wishlist – 22

Target for 2012 – 12

It is fun to read books outside our comfort zone.

I also want to read an Agatha Christie book. Don’t feel bad about what you’ve read and haven’t read. Just enjoy your time reading. 🙂
