Its Monday! What Are You Reading? (9th July)

9 Jul

Its Monday! What are you Reading? is a weekly bookish meme held on Book Journey by Sheila. It’s a great place to discuss your week in reading and see what others are reading too.

Ive had another good week in books, ive managed to read three and ive also been buying books too.

Books Read

The first book i finished was Confessions of a Demented Housewife by Niamh Greene. This is a funny chick lit book about a stressed stay at home mum. This was funny, but at times i found that i was a little out of the loop and maybe id have enjoyed it a bit more if i too was a stay at home mum.

The second book i finished was The Chocolate Lovers Club by Carole Matthews. I really enjoyed this book. Carole Matthews is one of my favourite authors of all time and im slowly reading all of her works. i cant wait to get my hands on the sequel.

The third book i finished was Magical Quotes and Words of Wisdom from Harry Potter by Samuel Penny. This book is a collection of quotes from the harry potter series. I think this is a book to dip in and out of, and one to keep for a long time too.

Reading Now

In book form I’m currently reading Across A Bridge of Dreams by Lesley Downer. This is part of the Hardback Reading Challenge from the transworld publishers. I love all things set in Japan, so this book is really good for me.

On my kindle im currently reading My House Looks Like a Fairyland Crime Sceneby Ed Ergenzinger. This is a book about a man living in a house with his wife and two young daughters. i love reading memoirs so im hoping this book is good

Next Up

Next up off the shelf is The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. This for me is a re-read, i read the book as a child, but ive never read it as an adult. I cant wait to see if its as good as i remember it.

Books Brought

I have several new books this week

  • The Report – Jessica Francis Kane
  • The Complete Polysllabic Spree – Nick Hornby
  • About a Boy – Nick Hornby
  • Across a Bridge of Dreams – Lesley Downer
