Booking Through Thursday – Carry On

27 Sep

Booking Through Thursday is a weekly bookish meme held over on Booking Through Thursday!

Do you bring the book(s) you’re reading with you when you go out? How?
Physically, or in an e-reader of some kind? Have your habits in this
regard changed? (I know I carried books with me more when I was in
school than I do now–I can’t read while I’m driving to work, after
all.)

Yes I’ve always got a book on me wherever i go. Before my kindle i used to always have my current read on me even if it was a massive book. This was a bit of a problem when it was a massive book.

When i got my kindle it really changed my reading habits. I no longer had to take two or three books every time i went away. I could just take my kindle with lots of books on that.

Now I’ve always got my kindle on me wherever i go. I take it to work, it take it to friends, i take it everywhere. I still read my tree books but  i tend to read these at home and not cart them everywhere!

My reading habits havent changed that much, if anything im reading more!

I agree; I feel that I am reading more since I got an e-reader last Christmas.

I love both physical copies and my Kindle.

I definitely think it is easier to tote around an e-reader. And I love how it only requires a single hand. If only I could figure out how to eat BBQ and read.

that would be good! I have figured out how to paint my nails and read though!

I haven’t succumbed to ereaders yet since I have to unplug from the world to stay sane and do this by holding a book in hand while was aping. I do listen to audio books while commuting which has been a change for me. Usually it’s one book at a time, now it’s one in the house and one in the car.

      Escaping not aping–silly auto correct

i’ve not had much expereince with audio books, i must give them a go sometime!

They are a must for long car trips, as I can only do so much music at one time. Getting a good reader is like having a good story read a story to you–right now Jeremy Irons is reading to me The Alchemist. Delightful!

Yes, I carry whatever I’m reading unless it’s a chunkster. Then I carry one of the other current reads.

I still don’t have a Kindle or eReader yet, but one reason I would get it is because it’s so portable. As for now – I have a big purse and I always carry a book with me no matter where I’m going.

Its a very handy gadget to have in fairness especially if you get through books quite quickly 🙂
