I’ve had a crazy few weeks within my personal life. I have been seeing someone for the past few months who is amazing and wonderful and i love him a lot which is lovely considering the relationship i came out of at the begining of the year.
I have been neglecting the blog a little bit as ive been away for the past week and a bit and havent had the time to update it so im doing all my end of year posts a bit late.
I have one big bit of personal news, I’M ENGAGED! My other half asked me on Christmas Eve and brought me a ring. We are keeping it a bit quiet within the family at the minute but i am so happy!
So i have a few things i need to do on the blog over the next few days.
- Write my final book review of 2012.
- Write my December book round up.
- Add the rest of my books to my TBR.
- Sort out a past years book log.
- Do my reading challenge wrap up posts.
- Recap on my reading goals and decide on some new ones for this year.
completed a goal of reading 75 books in 2012!
I’ve done it! I’ve completed my yearly reading challenge! This year i set myself a goal of reading 75 books in 2012 and having finished my 75th book yesterday I’m so pleased to say that I’ve read enough to reach my goal.
Last year i managed to read 76 books so I’d quite like to read a couple more just to say that i had read more this year. I know that i might not but still having half of December to go i might just manage it!
I had a very good start to the year. I managed 10 books in March which is a record for me, but the last couple of months ive only read 3 or 4 so the begining of the year saved me really!
I think next year I’m going to up my goal a little so maybe 80 books next year!
Well that’s a question that I’ve been asking myself recently. I have been busy and ill over the last week so I’ve had no time at all!
I’ve had a horrible cyst on my leg that has made me feel rubbish so much so that over the weekend I’ve hardly been able to move! Thankfully it’s now healing after bursting on me Sunday evening, which was not pleasant!
My reading mojo has completely deserted me I have no idea why either, I want to read I really do but I just can’t seem to want to pick up a book.
Ive lost my netbook charger so I can’t access any of my files on that or go on the Internet so that’s kind of a reason for my lack of posting too.
On a more positive note I’ve brought myself an iPad. I have been thinking about it for a while but got one last week and I love it. I don’t know how I would have coped without it and I’ve now just figured out how to post on my blog from it
Hopefully my mojo will return soon so I can read some of my lovely books 🙂
On a Monday i normally take part in my favourite meme, Its Monday! What are you reading? on book journey. However over the past week I’ve hardly stopped. i’ve hardly read anything but I’ve really wanted to read, thats the frustating thing.
Here how my week went.
Monday – Work, home for an hour, then cadets and then to a friends house.
Tuesday – Work, home and then my mum wasnt too well so had to look after her.
Wednesday – Work, then home for an hour, then band practice for Remembrance Sunday, then to a friends house.
Thursday – Work, then i babysit my baby cousins, then cadets, then to a friends house.
Friday – Work, then out for the evening with a glass of wine or six.
Saturday – Band Practice, then to get uniform ready for the next day then to bed.
Sunday – Remembrance parade and didnt get in until late.
So I’ve had a massively busy week and ive only read a few pages of my current read, Trixie Trader by Helen Dunne
Well what a week away I’ve had! It flew past so quickly and to be honest its made me evaluate what i want and what i want to do with my life. I stayed on a military base for the week and almost lived the military lifestyle. It was a fantastic experience and if i was younger i would be looking into joining the forces.
Its made me realise that deep down im not happy where i am and what im doing with my life so the only person that can change it is me. So thats what im going to do. No more messing about and things like that, ive got to just knuckle down and get on with getting what i want from life. Life is too short.
I didnt read hardly anything when i was away i was just so busy! I have a couple of posts that i need to do a review of The Casual Vacancy and also my October wrap up and then im all caught up!
On this day two years ago i started this blog, The Reading and Life of a Bookworm! I basically started it as a place to write my book thoughts and other ramblings and if others read it than that was a bonus. Time has flown so much with it and i love sharing my thoughts here and chatting to other book lovers. I love taking part in reading challenges, weekly memes and all my bookish posts.
I am hoping that my thoughts are getting better on the books i read and others are reading them. I love all the comments i get and i love visiting other blogs too.
so this year whats new? Well i have a kindle now and i have come across a lot of under the radar books that i wouldn’t have read before. I have also spoken with a few authors too (eeekkk!) and really enjoyed some of there books.
Ok, so it is finally happened my To Be Read pile has reached a massive 400 books! I have around 150 on my kindle and around 250 in paper books. Now this year my goal was to reduce my TBR but all ive done is let it grow and grow. This is mainly because i download a lot of kindle freebies and sometimes they are free for only a day and i dont want to miss out!
To be honest i know i should be shocked that i have this many books to read but secretly im not! I love all my books and i might as well start collecting them now while i can afford it.
At my current rate of reading it will take me around 4 or 5 years to get round to reading them all if i dont buy anything else. Now while that is a bit scary i still dont mind. I’m recently single and very much enjoying all the more reading time im having!
I am still going to try to not buy to many books but sometimes it just can’t be helped!
So, how big are your TBR’s?
